The stage is set for a concert unlike any,
Right at the center is a piano made of glass.
Seats filled with people, and there are many,
While I stand behind the curtains waiting for the fear to pass.
My left leg makes the move; maybe it should have been the right.
Where shall I look, towards what I'll play or who I do it for?
Fingers have gone numb while the mind is out of sight,
For all the things I've done have felt like they needed a little more.
I see those keys of black and white,
The notes I must play are etched in my mind.
Heartbeat synced with the metronome,
Yet the blood races to be felt a little more.
I will play life on this glass piano,
Come along if you can see through my soul.
Because while the piano I play is transparent,
My mind is a maze unlike any composition.
